Lululemon pulls yoga pants following defect

By Deana DeLisio,

Lululemon Athletica Inc. has announced on Monday that they will pull seventeen percent of their woman’s pants from designated stores because too much skin was showing.

Yahoo News has reported that the stretch material, “Luon” fabric, that is used to make the specific pants are a little too transparent.

The product pull can significantly affect the company financially as their shares dropped five percent by Tuesday morning.

"The potential problem you have is that if the customer walks in and can't find that pant, and she can't find it for six weeks, she might end up saying: 'Oh, well, I'll try Under Armour, or I'll try Nike, or I'll try whomever,'" said Sam Poser, Sterne Agee analyst.

The company is doing its best to address the matter in a timely fashion and they hope to get their product back on the shelves in no time. The “Black Luon Pants Shortage Expected- FAQ” posted on the company’s website states, “We are working closely with our manufacturing partner to understand what happened during the period this specific fabric was made,” reported Bloomberg.
