Magneto leading the wedding for Professor X

Well X-Men fans and nerds in general are going to love this. Magneto is set to preside Professor X’s wedding.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ian McKellen, 73, will head the wedding of Patrick Stewart and jazz singer, Sunny Ozell. McKellen announced the news Saturday night on a U.K. program, Jonathan Ross Show.

"I'm going to marry Patrick [Stewart]. I am going to officiate at his wedding."

Is this possible you may ask? Well, it is. Apparently McKellen has presided a wedding once before, and admits he got a little teary eyed.

“I don’t know,” McKellen said. “But in Massachusetts, in the middle of America somewhere, you get a friend along, and I read out the words, and Sunny and Patrick will then be married. … I’ve done it once before with two guys having a civil partnership. I was crying my eyes out.”

Stewart and his 35-year-old bride to be have been together since 2009. They can have good friend, McKellen, wed them thanks to an offer from Massachusetts that allows a close friend or family member to lead the ceremony for a $25 one-time fee.

Don’t worry though, McKellen doesn’t plan on upstaging the bride on her special day, reports Entertainment Weekly. It will be something along the lines of a white gown…

“Something I bought in India that was rather fetching,” Mckellen said. “You mustn’t upstage the bride.”

Stewart, 72, and McKellen are set to reprise their roles as Charles Xavier and Magneto for flashback scenes in the upcoming film, X-Men: Days of Future Past.
