While NBC’s America’s Got Talent won’t air until the summer, the pre-taped audition shows are already being filmed, starting in New Orleans on Monday. Former Spice Girl Mel B is one of the new judges, along with Heidi Klum, and she reportedly got off to a rough start.
TMZ reports that, for some reason, the pop singer decided to trash brass music while in New Orleans, which is not a good idea. She gave the popular Lagniappe brass band a negative response, which was quickly met with boos. Some chanted “Go home” and others yelled “No respect!”
Despite that, Mel B, whose real name is Melanie Brown, was comforted by AGT vet Howie Mandel and she stuck to her opinion. As for Klum, TMZ’s sources say that she did well on her first day.
AGT’s next season will be the first for Brown, who joined in February, and Klum, who was confirmed just hours before the New Orleans audition. Radio shock jock Howard Stern announced that he was returning in December.
This is also the first season with four judges.
Here's a taste of what Brown reportedly didn't like:
