Miranda Lambert lends shelter to dog found abandoned on the highway

Miranda Lambert may be a Grammy-winning country singer, but the star proves that she still has a heart of gold! After seeing an abandoned dog on an Oklahoma highway, Lambert decided to take the poor pooch into her own home.

According to Examiner.com, Lambert found him on the side of the road with a bowl and bed by his side. The singer was horrified by the situation, saying, “If it wasn't an accident someone is really sick.”

People reports that Lambert does not plan on keeping the dog, tweeting, “I guess the pup is mine till I find him a little boy somewhere to live him!” Though he may not be hers forever, she decided to pick out a name for the cute canine.

While Lambert is a known animal lover, she says adding another dog to her pack may make things a little too crowded. In fact, People shares that as of November, the star and her husband Blake Shelton already have six loveable pups of their own! Lambert said, “Everyone should have a dog – the love they give back is like nothing else.”
