Police are searching for Natasha Jugo, a 31 year old Queens woman, whose personal belongings were found at Gilgo Beach on Sunday.
According to LongIsland.com, a call was placed at 11:20 a.m. on Sunday from a nearby resident of Gilgo Beach that had discovered the young woman’s wallet and driver's license near Ocean Walk on the beach.
Jugo was last seen on Saturday at her home and according to her mother, she was in fear of people that she believed were following her.
Police have located the woman’s abandoned 2009 Toyota Prius and there were footprints leading to the ocean waters. A similar bathrobe to the one that Jugo was last seen wearing was discovered as well.
Between December 2010 and April 2011, police had uncovered ten sets of human remains on Gilgo Beach. However, police are confident that there is no relation to Jugo’s disappearance and the other victims, as stated by The Associated Press.
“There is no association,” claims Maureen Roach, a Nassau police spokeswoman, “The only common denominator is the beach.”
