NBC reportedly wants Maria Shriver back for 'Today'

By Gavriella Tjandra,

Since Maria Shriver gave Today and NBC a smash hit Monday for her coverage on the Pope, it raised questions about whether she will be coming back for more.

TMZ reported that NBC executives were reportedly talking about making a permanent deal for Today, but she turned down NBC's offer and a few other networks.

A source linked to Shriver said that the former wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger did not want to work too hard by doing the daily gigs.

The source said that she currently focused more on raising her children and on her charity work.

Doing daily gigs or not, her financial life would not be affected by it much. Shriver's net worth is approximately $100 million, and it could increase to $200 million when her divorce is finalized.

On Monday morning, Maria Shriver appeared on Today, reporting live from the Vatican, after more than 25 years since she first co-anchored the show The Daily Mail reported.

Shriver contributed to the papal coverage and detailed the reasons why the new Argentinian Pope chose the name Francis I.
