NBC is on a free fall and the latest results show a huge drop.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has fallen to third place behind Fox and the No.1 holder, CBS. The shift comes in the week ending on March 10. It’s a close race for second as NBC averages 2.5/7 in the demographics of adults 18-49. Fox has a slim lead with 2.6/7 rating.
NBC is currently at a -7 percent for the year-over-year ratings from last year. This, however, isn’t the lowest of the stations. ABC holds a -8, The CW is at -13, and Fox is at a huge -21 percent drop from last year.
Ever since The Voice and the football season ended, so have NBCs luck with ratings, reports Deadline. Before those seasons ended, NBC was at the top for the season until the end of January. That’s when NBC cut some loose ends off like failing new shows such as Do No Harm and 1600 Penn. Even the return of Smash, which had a horrible season debut, wasn’t enough for the network.
This past week was a shining week for the Fox network for adults 18-49. The network had three live viewings of American Idol, Glee did well, and The Following and Bones both had dominating nights.
CBS has been the only network performing the same as last year. With the ever popular Super Bowl showing, the network averages a 3.1/7 rating for adults 18-49. To compare the two, Fox was on top this time last year with a 3.3 rating.
Below are the current statuses and total viewers:
