Omar Sy joins the cast of 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'

French actor Omar Sy is set to join the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

According to The Guardian, director Bryan Singer confirmed the news on Twitter writing, “Thrilled to welcome the brilliant #OmarSy from the amazing film #TheIntouchables to the cast of #Xmen #DaysofFuturePast!”

Guardian notes that Sy’s role is still uncertain. He will join the likes of Academy Award winners Jennifer Lawrence and Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Hoult, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and new additions Ellen Page and Halle Berry.

The plot will center around time travel which will reunite the past and present character from the X-Men franchise.

Sy’s other credits include The Intouchables, Mood Indigo, On the other Side of the Tracks and Mimacs. He was awarded the Cesar award for Best Actor for his role in the 2011 Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano directed film Intouchables.

The sequel to 2009’s X-Men: First Class is slated to a href=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1877832/>hit theaters July 18, 2014.
