Paramore’s lead singer Hayley Williams, 24, graces the cover of Nylon Magazine’s April issue.
The feisty powerhouse singer, who calls Nylon her “absolute fav fashion magazine," talks about everything from feeling "crazy" during Paramore's troubled time to her band’s fresh start to being a female in a typically male-dominated industry in the issue hitting newsstands March 26.
Williams shows off her edgy yet girly side in the pages of the magazine, but she doesn’t ever feel pressured to come across as sexy, or be someone she’s not.
"I don't feel like I have to be sexy and a girl, or sexy in any way. I like to play hard, and I love to prove people wrong," she said. "It never bothers me being in a male-dominated world. In the past, when guys heckled me, I would just heckle them back."
With that said, she’s not your typical rock star. She could do without the glitz and glamour. In fact, she finds fame “stupid.”
“The fame aspect of what we do is so stupid to me,” she tells Nylon. "I literally feel like an idiot. All I want is to be that normal person...I love that side of myself so much more than the side that dresses up and poses for a camera, or that's on a magazine cover."
