Paul McCartney recorded music with Mark Ronson, who promises ‘It’s really good’

By Daniel S Levine,

Paul McCartney never slows down for a minute. The former Beatle may be 70, but he just announced a new world tour and has been recording with acclaimed producer Mark Ronson. The DJ, who idolizes McCartney, recently spoke about working with the rock icon.

“It's really good. He writes really good songs,” Ronson told The Associated Press, adding that it was “insane” to work with McCartney.

Ronson explained that working with McCartney was “on another level.” Considering that Ronson has worked with Amy Winehouse, Christina Aguilera, Bruno Mars, Adele and Lily Allen, that says a lot.

“He understands that you're so nervous to be working with Paul McCartney 'cause everyone is,” Ronson explained. “He gives you a lot of leeway, but then at the end of the day you need to deliver the goods.”

The producer added that working with McCartney was like taking “a master class in production, like harmonies and layering sounds and arrangement. His ideas are just incredible.”

Ronson was McCartney’s DJ at his 2011 wedding to Nancy Shevell.

McCartney’s last album was 2012’s Kisses on the Bottom, a collection of standards. His work with Ronson will probably make the follow-up album.

The “Band on the Run” singer just announced a new world tour called “Out There,” which will bring him and his band to places he’s never performed. The first two dates are set for Warsaw and Vienna.
