Philadelphia police have arrested Frank Briggs Tuesday for last Thursday’s shooting outside of rapper French Montana’s tour bus.
Briggs, 20, was charged with murder, attempted murder, reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, weapons offenses and other shared charges, reports Philly.com.
The incident happened last Thursday outside of Montana’s tour bus which was located at a Holiday Inn Express in Philadelphia. A crowd of fans surrounded the bus when Briggs drove by and started to shoot.
26-year-old Jowann King of New York was shot and killed in the drive by. A 28-year-old man was wounded, but has survived.
MTV reports that Montana doesn’t think he was the target of the shooting.
"I feel bad about what happened but nobody was shooting at me,” said Montana. “I don't know, it was just fans ... Something happened outside my bus, but it didn't have nothing to do with me."
Rapper Meek Mill was also on the bus during the shooting. Close to two dozen people from the tour bus, including Montana, was questioned by the police. Two men who fired back at Briggs were also questioned and not charged since they have permits for their firearms.
Montana went on to slam rumors of the incident involving a drive by in January targeting rapper Rick Ross.
There has been no motive released on why Briggs opened fire.
