Producers of a popular cable TV show, A Rifleman’s Journal, about firearms and hunting, were saddened when its host Gregory Rodriguez was shot dead in Montana.
According to Reuters, Rodriguez was shot by a man who later killed himself. The man, Wayne Bengston, was married to a woman he was meeting on Thursday. Brenston entered the house where Rodriquez and the woman were and killed him.
Brenston then ran to a neighbor’s home with his 2-year-old son. He was found dead by police in his home on Friday morning.
According to Reuters, police did not believe Rodriquez was involved with the woman. He was in Montana for a business meeting.
The TV show host on the Sportsman Channel was also a contributor at Guns and Ammo magazine.
David Kelly, a spokesman for the Houston Safari Club that Rodrigues belonged to, told The Associated Press, “We're all in a state of shock and disbelief right now.”
He is survived by his wife and two children.
