Rihanna: I don’t want to be ‘dishonest’

Rihanna always seems to give everyone a reason to talk about her. Whether it be her pot smoking habit, her tattoos, her hard-partying ways or her controversial relationship with Chris Brown, she is one to keep her name in the headlines.

Lately, Rihanna has been an open book. The 25-year-old “Where Have You Been” singer shares moments in her life with her fans through Twitter and Instagram. She recently sat down with Elle UK and admitted that she overshares so that she doesn’t come off as being “dishonest.”

Rihanna has shared numerous topless photos, photos of herself smoking weed, and countless photos with her “best friend” Chris Brown. She says love her or hate her for it, she’s just trying to tell the truth.

“Well I Instagram everything about my life, whether it’s smoking pot, in a strip club, reading a Bible verse - how crazy, I know! - or hanging out with my best friend, who happens to be Chris,” she told Elle, according to E! News.

“Everybody wanted to know what was happening in my life. Is she a drug addict? No. Is she an alcoholic? No. Is she a victim? No. That’s when I got the gun [tattoo]. It was a symbol of strength. I’ll never be a victim. That’s why I’m posting pictures of myself smoking pot, to tell the truth about myself. I’ve got so much to think about, why bring all this extra s*** by being dishonest?”

The Daily Mail reported Rihanna said in the interview that there is one person who would rather not know everything about her. That person is her mother.

"I’m not afraid of any person in this world but my mother. I’m terrified of her!
She called me two days ago and reeled me in about two naked pictures Melissa [her best friend] put up on Instagram… My mom, she went crazy on me," she said. "I was like embarrassed. I felt like I got my ass whupped in front of my class in school! She said, ‘This was like a private moment and you’re just parading this around.’ She humbled the f*** out of me.”
