Selena Gomez remains optimistic in love, looks up to Katy Perry

Selena Gomez might’ve just gone through a break-up with Justin Bieber, but in a new interview, the “Love You Like a Love Song” singer remains optimistic about love.

Gomez, 20, told Harper’s Bazaar that although she’s single now, she doesn’t "asked out a lot." She added, "It's not like I've wanted to go out and look for someone. I'm not really good at that."

But when it comes to love overall, Gomez says "To me, love is normal. Of course, you see Jay and Beyoncé and you're like, 'Oh, my gosh, they're perfect for each other,' but at the end of the day their love is just like everybody else's love."

She went on to say, "I believe in love — yes, I'm one of those girls.”

The Spring Breakers actress continued that she looks up to people older than her that also believe in love, like Katy Perry, who has gone through a divorce but remains optimistic.

"Most of my friends believe in love. I went out with Katy Perry last night. She's so fun and awesome, but it's cool to see someone older believe in love too,” she said, USA Today reports. “She is all about it, and that's how I will always be. I believe in stories like, 'Oh, I met him in Starbucks.'"
