While many actresses don’t get an authentic college experience, the stars of the new film Spring Breakers got to experience the craziness of Spring Break first-hand.
Selena Gomez, who plays Faith in the film, was taken by surprise due to the wild partygoers that were on spring break during the filming of the movie and who acted as extras.
"That's the craziest thing I've ever experienced," said Gomez, according to MTV News.
Spring Breakers tells the story of a group of college girls (Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Rachel Korine and Ashley Benson) who head to Florida for Spring Break and are willing to do anything to make their trip unforgettable.
Benson, who plays Brit, agreed with Gomez, saying that, at times, “I don’t even know what I’m doing here.”
"We would literally be doing takes, and we were surrounded by real Spring-Breakers," Benson told MTV News. "We were kind of thrown into this whole thing and just - I've never seen anything like it. Literally, girls would be making out and their clothes would come off, and I was like, 'Oh god, the bottoms!' And then they'd come off.”
The extras aren’t the only ones who get wild in the film. The movie, which is rated R, features scenes involving alcohol, drugs, sexual activity and nudity. In one scene, Hudgens, who plays Candy, has a threesome with co-stars Benson and James Franco. Even though some mothers might have cringed at the sight of their daughter acting in this manner, Hudgens said her mother loved the film.
“My mom was in love with the movie,” Hudgens told Access Hollywood. “All the really intense parts she was sitting behind me giggling!”
Spring Breakers hits theaters nationwide on March 22.
