Susan Boyle will make her acting debut in 'The Christmas Candle'

The top-selling singer is currently shooting her debut as an actress in a feature-film.

Singer Susan Boyle will be making her big-screen acting debut sometime during this year’s holidays, according to a report.

The movie is titled The Christmas Candle and will be set in rural England in the late nineteenth century according to UPI. The movie is currently being filmed, and Boyle is currently on location, according to the report.

According to BBC, the movie is an adaptation of a book of the same name written by an American preacher about mystical candles.

Boyle, 51, rose to fame as a standout singer in the UK’s Britain’s Got Talent in which she performed a song from the Les Miserables musical, “I Dreamed a Dream.” According to the report, set to star alongside her is Samantha Barks from the Les Miserables film in 2012.

Boyle released her debut album, I Dreamed a Dream in 2009, which broke UK records for album sales and sold very well in the United States. According to CNN, Boyle’s debut week was the best ever in album sales for a female, beating out Rihanna’s release of Rated R by a few hundred thousand in the same week.
