Henry Ford said, “If you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right.” I believe his quote also applies to contesting. I expect to win every contest I enter. I don’t win every contest I enter, but I expect to. Besides, how fun would this hobby be if I sighed with exasperation each time I filled out an online entry form?
I get excited about the whole process. I am happy when a new contest appears on my radar. I read the rules and see what I have to do to win. Add it into my Online Contest Entry System. Dream for a moment or two about the grand prize and what I would do if I won. Then at least once a week I get notified I am a WINNER! Depending on the prize, I may even do a happy dance.
In the sales profession there is an old adage, “When is the best time to make a sale? Right after you’ve made one.” Why? Because your energy, confidence and excitement are all in alignment to get the next sale. If possible, I follow that adage and while I am still excited about my prize, I begin to enter my daily sweepstakes.
I say, “Half the hobby is in your head.” You have to think you are lucky before you are lucky.
