Fans of the 1999 film The Best Man: Not only has it been confirmed that there will be a sequel, but Taye Diggs himself has now shared some new details about the project.
Diggs, who starred as the film's leading man, recently talked with Essence magazine about the romantic comedy that still has so many fans after all these years.
The film, now officially going by the title The Best Man Holiday, will feature all of the original characters and cast members, including Sanaa Lathan (Love and Basketball), Terrence Howard (Crash), Morris Chestnut (Identity Thief), and Nia Long (television's House of Lies).
In the interview, Diggs said, "We start next month. I've been texting and emailing people. Everyone's really excited. The script's done and it's good!"
Diggs also revealed more about the plot of this sequel. "I'll say that there's another big event. In the first one, there was a wedding and [now] there's another big event that brings us all together."
Not only will the original cast reunite for this film, but Deadline confirms that the film's original director, Malcolm D. Lee, has returned to write and direct the sequel.
Excited fans will know more about the film soon, as The Best Man Holiday is set for a November 15, 2013 theatrical release.
