This week’s viral video features a teenager being dared to jump into a puddle, but it turns out to be deeper than he could imagine.
The video, titled “My Friend Almost Drowns At Family Dollar!” was posted back on March 9. The YouTube user claims that everyone was convinced that the puddle in the middle of the parking lot wasn’t deep.
Lakeem is seen jumping into the puddle (“for the kids,” he says), but the second he goes in, everyone sees that it was really deep, with the water going over his head. The cameraman starts laughing and later in the video, he falls on the ground in hysterics. Thankfully, he has other friends who help him up, but everyone else is laughing for the rest of the 30-second video.
While the video was posted over the weekend, it didn’t go viral until it was posted on Reddtt, where the video has earned over 18,000 up points and over 500 comments. On YouTube, it’s earned 1.5 million views.
Like all viral hits, though, there remains one big question: How on earth did such a deep hole end up in that Family Dollar parking lot?
A quick YouTube search for “kid jumps into puddle” also brings up this four-year-old gem:
