When a paparazzo asked actress Tina Fey to comment on her ongoing feud with country singer Taylor Swift, Fey responded with an expletive-laced brush off.
The unintentional war was declared back in January when Fey and Amy Poehler co-hosted the Golden Globes. Fey made a joke that Swift should consider taking a break from her notorious serial dating.
Swift took offense to the jab and recited her favorite quote to Vanity Fair that “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.”
ABC News reported Poehler’s semi-apologetic response: “I feel bad if she was upset….That being said I do agree that I’m going to hell, but for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff.”
Meanwhile, Fey expressed her surprise at Swift’s thin-skinned reaction to the Globes joke, telling Entertainment Tonight “I didn’t see that one coming. It was a joke. It was a lighthearted joke.”
The apologies should have ended the whole mess, but recently a paparazzo dragged the subject up again to Fey's dismay. E! News Online was first to break the story, but the footage has since been removed from their site.
However, the Huffington Post described the encounter in detail. Apparently Fey was out walking when she was accosted by an eager paparazzo who asked for a comment on Swift’s overreaction. Fey reportedly laughed and told the man to “Go f*** yourself.”
Fey then turned to grace a starstruck fan, but when the paparazzo insisted on a response, Fey again dropped the F-bomb on him.
There is no telling when this fiasco will die down, but it’s crystal clear that the popular joke-teller is over it.
