Do you love the amazing food NYC has to offer? How about enjoying it for a great cause?
On Thursday evening, March 7 The Doe Fund is hosting its Second Annual Sweet New York at the Classic Car Club Soho on Hudson Street. Sponsored by Mercedes Benz, chefs from some of the city’s top restaurants like Tao, Lavo and BLT Prime will be providing sweet and savory snacks for guests to enjoy.
Most of us have heard the proverb, “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime,” this is what The Doe Fund enables for the city’s formerly homeless or incarcerated. The award winning Ready, Willing and Able program gives 1,000 individuals a day a second chance. The Fund provides paid work, meals, safe housing, career development and educational opportunities and more for those in need.
One of the avenues of work they provide is Culinary education. Students from the program will work alongside professional chefs to offer up the evening's great eats. In addition to the food, the drinks will be flowing as well with premiere mixologists mixing up cocktails. If you prefer red, white or bubbly that will be available too. There is also the chance to win great prizes with a silent auction.
The tickets for the main event from 7-10 PM are $75 dollars. If you can spend a little more, for $150 a ticket get a VIP preview an hour before the rest of the crowd with a wine and food pairing by food network chef Madison Cowan and Napa’s Flora Springs Winery.
You can still order tickets at: The Doe Fund.
