American Idol alum Adam Lambert has officially split from his longtime boyfriend and television personality Sauli Koskinen. Despite the break-up, Lambert insists that the two will remain friends.
Although they have been dating for quite some time now, Lambert claims that the break-up was a long time coming. He told South Florida Gay News, “It’s been kind of on its way out in the last couple of months.”
Both Lambert and Koskinen rose to fame from reality television exposure — Lambert on American Idol and Koskinen on Finland’s version of Big Brother. Since their perspective reality tv stints, both have been adamant about focusing on their careers.
Koskinen claimed, “Fame is not easy. Celebrities are only human. Love is not easy either, but it is forever!”
Lambert and Koskinen’s relationship had some trouble back in 2011 when they were arrested for a physical argument in Finland, as we previously reported.
Lambert added that despite the break-up, “Sauli and I remain really good friends, and I know it’s a cliché thing to say. But it’s totally true. I just gave him a coffee and bagel earlier today. He’s a great person and we’ve had an amazing couple of years together. Things have just run their course.”
