Adam Levine and T.I’s drug use spark Universal Music Group lawsuit

By Lena Finkel,

A new lawsuit aimed at Universal Music Publishing Group has unleashed a shocking revelation: musicians like to smoke marijuana. Clearly, this is big news... or so it seems to the 41-year-old security guard who used to work at UMPG. The plaintiff claims that the music company fired her when she complained over the musicians' drug use.

According to the Daily Mail, the plaintiff, who wishes to remain anonymous, witnessed musicians Macy Gray, T.I, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, and friends of Jamie Foxx using marijuana.

Apparently, she even complained on one instance about the smell emanating from Levine’s recording studio but the manager didn’t seem too concerned. The security guard claims the manager said, “It's Adam Levine. You know from Maroon 5 ... He can do whatever he wants ... If he wants to come to the lobby and do a line of cocaine on the floor, it's ok,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In fact, the studio even attempted to accommodate the artists’ drug habits and offered to put candles in the studio to help dissipate the smell.

A UMPG spokesperson has stated, “While we cannot comment on the allegations between the plaintiff and her employer, we can say that the allegations as they relate to Universal Music Group are absurd.”
