Adele to release new album in 2014, will not conflict with new release from Susan Boyle (Report)

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Grammy Award winner Adele will release new album in 2014.

Perez Hilton reports that a British newspaper has revealed that the “Someone Like You” singer is currently in the studio prepping for an album slated for the middle of next year.

A source explained to the site, “Four tracks are finished in terms of writing and she's now laying down preliminary vocals with backing music and singers. The rest of the record will be done in LA. The feel is very much Adele going back to her roots, with some modern jazz and a couple of classic old songs."

Following reports of Adele’s upcoming album, rumors that Susan Boyle’s album would be put on hold because of Adele surfaced. However, Metro.co.uk notes that a rep for Boyle has denied the claims that Adele’s record has anything to do with a potential upcoming album from the Britain’s Got Talent competitor.

A notice on Boyle’s official page reads, “Contrary to reports in press today, Susan’s 5th album is in full flow, not been put on hold for any other artist. Global release will be winter 2013.”
