Chelsea Handler has just been given an “unforgettable” opportunity as the host of Saks Fifth Avenue’s Unforgettable Evening, the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s annual fundraiser for their Women’s Cancer Research Fund.
Handler may have to tone down her deadpan jokes at this event that honors cancer survivors and helps support cancer research.
According to Yahoo News, Handler will be cracking jokes for prominent guests during the May 2 event at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire. The gala is set to honor Australian artist Kylie Minogue, a breast cancer survivor who will receive the Courage Award. Designer Carolina Herrera will accept the Nat King Cole award for her generosity to the fund.
According to WWD, honorary chairs of the event include Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and Steven Spielberg.
Gwyneth Paltrow, Glenn Close, Hilary Swank and Charlize Theron have all been ambassadors for women’s cancer research. Paltrow, Swank and Nicole Kidman have all won the Courage Award in the past. Past recipients of the Nat King Cole Award include Courteney Cox and Christina Applegate.
