Comedian Brody Stevens, who stars in an HBO Digital series, is getting his own Comedy Central series with Hangover star Zach Galifianakis as an executive producer.
In a press release, the Viacom-owned cable network billed Stevens’ show as its first ever ‘dramatic comedy series.’ It is currently titled Brody Stevens: Enjoy It! and each episode will be a half hour.
The early episodes will be expanded versions of the documentary-style HBO Digital series. Those will take up the first six episodes and an additional six will be produced.
“I’m as excited as I can be while on 300 milligrams of Lamictal,” Stevens said in a statement. “My life has always been about POSITIVE ENERGY and I’m looking forward to all of Comedy Central’s fans following me on Twitter at @BrodyismeFriend. America -- get ready to PUSH AND BELIEVE!”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will follow Stevens’ attempt to re-start his career as a stand-up comedian in Los Angeles, now that he’s back on his meds. Galifianakis, Sarah Silverman, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim will also appear.
Funny Or Die is co-executive producing with Stevens, Galifianakis, Mike Gibbons, Generate's Dave Rath.
Comedy Central recently announced that it picked up Adam Devine’s House Party, featuring the Workaholics star.
