The director thinks he's not the “right guy” for the next Bond project

Danny Boyle, who recently directed the movie Trance, starring his ex-girlfriend Rosario Dawson, announced that he is not interested in directing future James Bond films.

After Sam Mendes, who directed Skyfall, stated that he would not direct another movie for the franchise, the entertainment world went into overdrive with speculations of who could take on the project.

While Danny Boyle, who directed hits like Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours, may have been on some people's wish list, Boyle stated that he doesn't think he would be a good fit for the Bond movies.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Boyle said, “I’m not really the guy for those movies. It’s very tempting of course — I love the movies, I love the books, but I’m not the right guy for those.”

Entertainment Weekly reports that Boyle actually had a connection with the Bond franchise in the past, as he oversaw production for Daniel Craig's skit with the Queen of England that aired for the 2012 London Olympics.

Boyle discussed working with Craig and the Queen, sharing, “She’s great. She’s very smart, sharp for a woman of her age, very sharp. She chatted away to Daniel Craig, they got along very well. It was good.”
