Future of 'Cleveland Show' unknown, network has not officially canceled

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Following the announcement that Seth MacFarlane’s Cleveland Show was canceled, conflicting reports have surfaced to state that the Family Guy spinoff has not been axed just yet.

According to LA Times, Fox network is denying reports that the series has been canceled. However, the network has yet to order any additional episodes of the series, which focuses on former Family Guy cast member Cleveland Brown and his family.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Fox has since issued a statement noting that they have not decided whether or not to go forward with another season of the show, but states that the adult-cartoon series will air through May at the very least.

Reports of the cancellation surfaced after Animation Guild Blog posted that The Cleveland Show was canceled. The network tells The Hollywood Reporter, "Only Fox can dictate whether a show has been canceled.”

THR notes that the cartoon has seen a decline in viewers. The network did confirm the return of MacFarlane’s Family Guy and American Dad.

No official word on the future of the show has been confirmed by the network.
