Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and their Silver Linings Playbook director David O. Russell have restarted production on their latest project, American Hustle. The production, based in Boston, was forced to delay production while the city was locked down on Friday for the manhunt for the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings.
A Sony spokesperson confirmed to Deadline on Sunday that the production will start up again today. Production on American Hustle (which was once known as American Bullshit) started back on March 8 in Worcester, Massachusetts. They moved production to Boston last Wednesday.
The film is centered on the ABSCAM FBI investigation during the 1970s that lead to the downfall of several members of Congress. It is a Silver Linings Playbook reunion, with Robert De Niro also starring. Russell’s The Fighter actors Amy Adams and Christian Bale also star. comedian Louis C.K. also has a role.
While in Boston, Cooper took time to meet with one of the victims of the Boston bombings, Jeffrey Bauman Jr., who lost both his legs. Over the weekend, Lawrence flew out to Los Angeles to present President Bill Clinton with a GLAAD Award.
American Hustle is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 25, just in time for the Oscars.
