New Kids on the Block's Jonathan Knight leaves stage mid-performance, reports suggest he suffered anxiety attack (Video)

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

New Kids on the Block took the stage April 4 at NYC's iHeartRadio Theater to promote their new album, but excited fans were left concerned when NKOTB's Jonathan Knight walked off the stage mid-performance.

According to Billboard, Knight was joined on stage by fellow members Donnie Walhberg, Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood and brother Jordan Knight, where the '90s hit boy band performed songs from their upcoming album, 10 in addition to some of their earlier hits.

Billboard notes that Jonathan was obviously feeling uncomfortable on numerous occasions during their set, taking a call on his cell phone and dancing only slightly in the back while Wahlberg and McIntyre attempted to keep the energy flowing in the crowd. Jonathan made his exit after his brother announced that Jonathan would be singing “Survive You.” He reportedly laughed before making his way off of stage.

Examiner notes that Jonathan suffered an anxiety attack during the performance, although the report has not been confirmed by the band.

Examiner notes an interview in which Jonathan revealed to Oprah Winfrey that he had long suffered severe anxiety attacks during the time NKOTB began increasingly popular.

The band has since taken to Twitter to reassure fans that Jonathan will be along in future shows. “Not 2 worry BHs, all is well w Jon! It was a crazy album release week & we are all on a plane to Napa & look fwd to a grt show this weekend!”
