Sweepstakes Entry Tip #6: Enter, Enter, Enter

By Carolyn Wilman,

There is a reason I called my book You Can’t Win If You Don’t Enter, because you can’t and the more you enter, the better your odds. Here is how to increase your odds of winning.

What you should always look for in the rules is: 1) entry period, 2) eligibility and 3) frequency.

1. When does the promotion end? Is it a one day flash contest? Is it open for two weeks? Two months? Until the end of the year?

2. Who is the promotion open to? All of the US? Excluding AK and HI? And Canada? Worldwide? AOM (age of majority) in your state? Women only?

3. Can you enter once? Daily? Weekly? Every 24 hours? Once per hour??

These factors will determine 1) how you enter the contest and 2) your odds of winning.

Now think in concentric circles to determine your best odds of winning. The shorter the entry period, the better your odds. The smaller the geographic region, the better your odds. The less often you can enter, the better your odds (as everyone has an even playing field). Now, when these converge, the odds improve again. For example your odds of winning are far greater in a one day, single entry, regional contest than a national, daily entry, three month long sweepstakes.
