Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy, CNN journalist Anderson Cooper and Apple CEO Tim Cook top the list of Out Magazine’s seventh annual “Power 50.”
The list also features the likes of celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, Google Executive Megan Smith, Simon Halls & Stephen Huvane. RuPaul Charles came in at number 50.
According to On Top Magazine, Cook, 52, found himself at the top of the list for the third year in a row. Cook, who took over when Apple CEO Steve Jobs died, has made a positive mark on the company. DeGeneres followed in second, Murphy in third, Rachel Maddow in fourth and Cooper in fifth.
Editors of Out said of Cook’s number one spot, “When Cook took charge of the tech giant in late 2011, many regarded the enigmatic successor with skepticism. But over the past year, the CEO has guided Apple through significant upgrades on all of the company's product lines and led the brand's market share to increase to 20% of all money spent on U.S. consumer technology, up 2% from 2011. And did we mention Cook sat next to Michelle Obama at the State of the Union address?”
Frank Ocean, who came out last summer, was new to the list, taking spot number 10.
