Top 10 Deb from 'Dexter' Quotes

By Allison Cordaro,

Showtime recently announced that talks about a Dexter spin-off series surrounding the life of Deb are in the works. Although Dexter clearly provides the motivation for the show, there are moments in the show in which Deb’s struggles overshadow the internal conflict of her brother. Season seven especially highlighted Deb’s moral ambivalence about learning the truth about her homicidal brother.

In the show’s beginning, Debra usually contrasted Dexter’s lack of humanity by demonstrating a passion for justice. Her role paralleled Dexter’s and at most points during the show, the two often searched for the same serial killer (although Dexter’s intentions stemmed more from his desire to satiate his Dark Passenger).

Deb’s history is a long and complicated affair beginning with the insecurities she felt while watching her father spend more of his time and attention with her foster brother, Dexter. In the first season alone, her fiancée turns out not to be a prosthetics doctor, but instead Dexter’s biological, serial killer brother, who presented Deb on a slab for Dexter to kill. Among the other tragedies that Deb undergoes (including watching the love of her life, Special Agent Frank Lundy, die right in front of her), she spent the majority of last season coping with the fact that the brother she loved and trusted was actually a serial killer.

Deb has evolved into an emotionally rich and complex character especially in the past few seasons. I am excited for the spin-off (if it should actually make it to production), and would love to see a show focused primarily on Deb. Though executives have not released many details about the project, I’m sure that there will obviously be a lot of cursing involved.

In anticipation of the possibility of a Deb spin-off, here are just a few of my favorite quotes from Debra Morgan.

10. You are not allowed to talk about anyone I date as long as you're seeing little miss "pardon my t*ts". I'm sorry, Dex, but she is gross. And pale, and nobody is pale in Miami. She is obviously a vampire. A gross, English, t*tty vampire.

9.Deb: [Debra walks into Dexter's bedroom. There are dozens of lit candles around the room] Who's the skank?
Dexter: Deb, did knocking occur to you?
Deb: Who is she? And, are you trying to f**k her or set her on fire?

8.[getting dressed for the wedding] Ugh, a dress. I feel like a transvestite.

7.Godd*mn pantyhose! Has anyone ever died from crotch asphyxiation?

6.S**t a brick and f**k me with it, you're never going to believe who this truck is registered to.

5.I love you, bro, but sometimes you're a f**king 'tard.

4.I don't wanna step on my d**k.

3.Deb: (excitedly) A baby? a motherf**king rolly-poly, chubby cheeked s**t machine? Are you kidding me?
Dexter: I've never heard it described in quite those words before, but yeah.

2.Deb: Sweet Mary mother of f**k that's good.
Dexter: I think you might have broken a commandment somewhere in there.

1.Dexter: I remember your first words: shoes. You were very girly once upon a time.
Deb: That's funny. I always remember my first words as being, 'Hurry the f**k up.'
