It's not always easy to find a show that even kids can enjoy. Large productions like The Lion King are certainly exciting but can be overwhelming for little ones. Fortunately, we found a wonderful show people of all ages can enjoy: Wanda's Monster.
This delighful musical follows Wanda, a spunky 5 year old with a vivid imagination, who is convinced there's a monster in her closet. Wanda's granny tells her that the monster isn't scary but is in fact shy and friendless, which opens the door to acceptance and friendship.
Award-winning children's musical artist Laurie Berkner provides the music and lyrics to this entertaining show, including her hit song "Monster Boogie".
Though the star creature of this show is a monster, he's not at all scary. The slapstick humor was especially funny and made for an entertaining show.
The show's run time clocked in less than an hour, which is perfect for children and their shorter attention spans.
Wanda's Monster plays at Theater 3 at West 43rd Street in New York. The theater itself is an ideal setting for this show. It's not too large and it helps create a cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy the show with your family.
Be sure to stick around when the show ends to meet the cast and get your picture with them.
