Season eight of Dexter will mark the return of a dangerous killer. Yvonne Strahovski is returning to play florist, serial killer and Dexter Morgan’s former love, Hannah McKay.
Last season ended with a lot of uncertainty for Strahovski’s character. Dexter ended things with Hannah when he visited her in jail. He decided his relationship with his sister was more important than his relationship with Hannah. After all, she was responsible for his sister Deb's car accident.
Hannah ended up escaping from prison and she left a message to Dexter by leaving him a black orchid at his doorstep. After that final scene, she was never seen again.
Fans won’t have to wonder what happened to Hannah. Entertainment Weekly confirms she’ll return to the series for season eight this summer in a multi-episode arc.
With the return of Hannah, what does that mean for Dexter and his foster sister Deb, the Lieutenant of Miami Metro Homicide? That has yet to be seen, but her return will certainly complicate things.
"She's got very complicated feelings for Dexter; she loves and hates him at the same time," Showrunner Scott Buck told The Hollywood Reporter at the end of season seven. So Hannah may be out for revenge this season.
The new season, and what looks to be the last season of Dexter, premieres June 30 at 9p.m. on Showtime.
