Lena Dunham is troubled by ‘Girls’ porn parody

By Daniel S Levine,

Lena Dunham pushes the envelope in nearly every episode of her HBO series Girls in ways that some viewers have found uncomfortable. But even the writer/creator/star of the series had to admit that the idea of a porn parody of the show is even more disturbing.

Dunham tweeted today that she wishes “I had a better attitude about the Girls porn parody. I really can never predict what will trouble me and it's simply exhausting.”

According to Vulture, the film is titled This Ain't Girls XXX and features Richie Calhoun, who plays a version of Adam Driver’s character. “I tried to make it as weird as possible,” he told XBiz, which covers the porn industry. “I tried to say really weird things and do really weird positions.”

Alex Chance plays Hannah, the character Dunham plays on the real show. The "plot" of the porn version has Hannah trying to be a lesbian, but she goes back to Adam. “[Adam's] like, 'OK, then crawl to my f**king bed,’” Calhoun said.

Comedian Rob Delany tweeted to Dunham, “Feel what you feel. You pour arterial blood into your show & they’re doing something lazy & by the numbers.”

Girls has already been renewed for a third season and will be back next year.
