Tonight's season finale of Mike & Molly, which would focus on a tornado-ridden Chicago, has been cancelled.
According to Entertainment Weekly, no actual tornado devastation would be shown, but out of respect for those in Oklahoma, who were recently devastated by an EF4 tornado which touched down Monday afternoon, the storyline has been pulled and will air at another time.
A CBS spokesperson states, “Due to the tragic events this afternoon in Oklahoma, we are pre-empting tonight’s season finale of Mike & Molly, which has a related storyline,. A repeat broadcast of Mike & Molly will run in the time period. The season finale will be broadcast at an appropriate date.”
USA Today reports that the episode was titled “Windy City” with the episode description reading, "Mike and Carl get stuck working at the Renaissance Faire after their boss, Patrick, gets dumped by Mike's mother. Later, as a tornado descends on Chicago, Mike and Molly each confess important news to each other."
Mike & Molly was recently given a midseason renewal by CBS.
