Oren Uziel is going to be one busy screenwriter over the next year. The writer has been picked by Sony to work on both 21 Jump Street 2 and Men in Black 4.

Uziel is known around Hollywood as the writer of The Kitchen Sink, a script that landed on the 2010 Black List and is in development at Sony. Sources for The Wrap say that he will first work on a rewrite of the 21 Jump Street sequel, which is scheduled for June 6, 2014. The first film with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum was a huge hit last year and a reboot of the popular TV series that starred Johnny Depp (who made a cameo in the film).

Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will be back for 21 Jump Street 2, but they are busy working on Warner Bros.’ The Lego Movie, so they won’t have time to rewrite the script themselves.

The Wrap and The Hollywood Reporter reported that Uziel was also hired to write the first draft of Men in Black 4. That film will be the follow-up to MIB3, which made $624 million last year and won decent reviews. There are no additional details on the new project, including how involved star Will Smith will be.

Uziel’s The Kitchen Sink is a sci-fi/horror/comedy mash-up is set to star Mackenzie Davis and Nicholas Braun. Production will start later this year, notes The Wrap. His IMDb profile also lists Mortal Combat and Downtown Owl.
