America’s sweetheart, Jennifer Lawrence, and her family were relieved of an obsessive stalker who showed up to their house in Kentucky and threatened the actress’ older brother, Blaine.
Han Cong Zhao – a 23-year-old student from Vancouver – was arrested Sunday on charges of stalking the Lawrence family members.
According to ABC News, Zhao found the family’s contact information on the Camp HiHo website, which is a day camp for kids that’s owned by Lawrence’s mother, Karen.
Zhao proceeded to call Blaine Lawrence over 200 times throughout April in a futile attempt to get closer to Blaine’s award-winning sister.
After his calls went unanswered, Zhao flew from Canada to Louisville, Kentucky where the Lawrences live.
The troubled student then left an ominous voicemail for Blaine, warning him, “I find you or you come to me. You got me really upset. When I am upset, wait and see what happens.”
Zhao was finally arrested when he approached the town’s Chief of Police with two letters for Jennifer and asked for help in contacting her parents.
USA Today reports that Zhao is being held on $100,000 bail and awaits trial on July 23.
A judge gave an explicit order forbidding Zhao from contacting the Lawrences. “No letters, no emails, no voice messages, no texts, no flowers.”
He has pleaded not guilty to the charges of stalking.
