MTV’s hit show Catfish: The TV Show is back and better than ever.
Catfish, for those who are unfamiliar, is a reality series that explores the truth and lies of online dating. The term “catfish” refers to a person who creates a fake profile on any social media site, pretending to be someone else by using false information and someone else’s picture to start an online romantic relationship.
Catfish will leave you confused and entertained, while wondering how some people can be tricked despite all of the evidence that points to a fake profile.
However, put that aside for now.
While Catfish is becoming popular for its entertainment value, I challenge both faithful and first time viewers to watch this show for something more than entertainment – watch this show to see what it says about us as humans and how far we are willing to go for love.
Catfish has done an exceptional job of showing the world that love is universal and that there are no boundaries that can restrict love or the feeling of it.
And although some will argue that it’s ridiculous to fall in love with someone online, what is hard to argue and deny is that it is easy to develop some type of connection with someone online – hence most people have social networks to stay in contact with others.
If you are looking for a different way to watch a TV show, Catfish: The TV Show comes on MTV, Tuesday nights at 10 p.m.
