Justin Timberlake will take the stage in his ‘suit and tie’ at this year’s Video Music Awards as MTV has announced he will be presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award. The widely popular music channel presents artists with this award when they feel they have created memorable and iconic music videos. Timberlake will join the list among other stars such as, fellow Mouseketeer, Brittany Spears, Madonna, the Beatles and Michael Jackson himself. MTV also confirmed Timberlake will be a guest performer the night of the awards on Sunday, Aug. 25.
Real Housewives of New Jersey couple, Teresa and Joe Guidice, pleaded not guilty to federal fraud charges. The couple claims they are innocent of 39 counts tax evasion, acquiring illegal mortgages from banks and other loans. In a recent court appearance in New Jersey, Joe Guidice’s lawyer, Miles Feinstein said the couple refuses to admit guilt to the IRS fraud charges. The couple is set for a hearing on Oct.3 and a trial Oct. 8.
“Blurred Lines” singer, Robin Thicke has filed a lawsuit against Marvin Gaye’s family as well as against Funkadelic Records. The singer has issued the lawsuit in an effort to protect his successful collab hit. Gaye’s family has made allegations of similarities between “Blurred Lines” and “Got to Give It Up.” Thicke claims the hit was made without copying Gaye’s or Funkadelic’s “Sexy Ways.” Instead of waiting on Gaye’s family to file a suit, Thicke filed in hopes the court can determine rights first.
New mom, Kim Kardashian called Katie Couric a “fake media friend” after Couric gave the new parents “friendly” advice. Kardashian posted a picture on Instagram of a white onesie and a note that reads, “"Dear Kim and Kanye, Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl! As a moth..And May I humbly suggest you continue the K tradition for no...Fondly, Katie Couric." Likely, Kim is angry at Couric after she commented on the Kardashians in an In Touch interview. So Kim took to Instagram to vent. Kardashian used the hashtags, "#IHateFakeMediaFriends and #MayIHumblySuggestYouNotSendGiftsThenTalkShit."
