Bachelor contestant Gia Allemand died a little over a week ago from a suicide attempt, and now new details about her last few hours are shedding light on why the star took her own life.
Allemand had reportedly been arguing with her boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson, ABC News reported.
ABC News obtained a New Orleans Police Department report that stated Allemand hanged herself from a spiral staircase handrail with a vacuum cord after fighting with Anderson. It was also reported that after dropping Allemand off at her apartment, Anderson said he did not love her anymore, after the reality star said she loved him.
Allemand's mother later grew worried when, after speaking to her daughter on the phone, the line went silent, TMZ revealed.
Anderson was asked to check on her. Upon discovering Allemand, he tried to unwrap the cord that was tied around her neck. EMTs and police officers arrived and tried to resuscitate the 29-year-old beauty, who had left a note leaving all her belongings to her mother.
She was put on life support when she arrived at the hospital, but was taken off of it two days later "due to a critical loss of brain and organ function," which was released in a statement from the family on the day she passed away.
