Cecily Strong is fixed to be Saturday Night Live’s next anchor when Seth Meyers takes over Late Night next February.
Viewers of SNL should expect a major upheaval after the gradual loss of its most prominent cast members including Kristen Wiig, Jason Sudeikis, Andy Samberg, Fred Armisen, and Bill Hader.
Many expect actors Noël Wells, Beck Bennett, John Milhiser, and Kyle Mooney to join the cast, reports Deadline.
Saturday Night Live has recently received a great deal of flack with detractors claiming the show has gone downhill and that it does not meet the earlier precedents it set with some of its greatest cast members.
The New York Times quoted SNL producer Lorne Michaels as saying, “People attach to the cast they see in high school [...] In those years they generally can’t drive. They don’t have any money. Staying up late is exciting. Being with friends up late is really exciting. So they’re very connected to the cast they see then.”
