Jared Harris, who is best known for his role in Mad Men, has joined The Man from U.N.C.L.E., which will be directed by Guy Ritchie. The two previously worked together on Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
Warner Bros. announced Harris’ casting in a press release that confirmed that U.N.C.L.E. will finally start production on Sept. 9. The spy movie will start filming in England, before moving to Rome and Naples.
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is based on the classic 1960s television series about the exploits of Napoleon Solo, Illya Kuryakin and the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the script was written by Ritchie and Lionel Wigram. The two are producing with John Davis and Steve Clark-Hall, with David Dobkin as executive producer.
The film does not have a release date yet.
Harris played Lane Pryce in Mad Men before leaving in season five. He appeared in Lincoln and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and will be seen in Pompeii.
