The NFL's season opening game, between the Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos easily won the night for NBC.
The Los Angeles Times reports that the football game scored a 10 in prime time advertising in the coveted 18-49-year old demographic. The game drew a 15 percent increase over last year's game.
The game brought in more than 24.8 million viewers for the 8:30-11 p.m. time slot. The numbers could still be even higher as the early Nielsen numbers aren't adjusted for time zones and tends to under count NFL games.
TV By the Numbers notes that final numbers will be released later in the afternoon as the game was originally delayed half an hour because of weather, which skewed the numbers a little bit.
On CBS, Big Brother had over 7 million watching the telecast, an increase of 40 percent from the previous week. Among 18-49-year-olds, it was 2.4 million, for an increase of 33 percent.
ABC's rating increased 11 percent for Rookie Blue in the key demographic. Wipeout was down 8 percent to 1.1 in the 18-49 rating.
The L.A. Times notes Fox only showed reruns Thursday night.
