Prosecutors are seeking for British man Geoffrey Portway to get a 27-year sentence for building a soundproof dungeon and plotting to abduct, rape and eat children.
Portway, who resided in Worcester, Mass. for most of his life, pleaded guilty in May for conspiring to kidnap a child for child pornography and the sentencing is due on September 17.
Boston officials stated that Portway used the pseudonym "Longpig" to have numerous online chats with people to discuss a "mutual interest" in abduction, rape and cannibalism.
"Portway may try to argue that the pictures and chats are just part of a fantasy life and that he never intended to carry out his plans, but the evidence clearly shows that is untrue," said Assistant U.S. Attorney Stacy Dawson Belf, according to International Business Times.
The soundproof dungeon contained a child-sized coffin and handcuffs along with a gag.
"This man looks like he went beyond just having ideas," Northeastern University criminologist Jack Levin told CBS Boston, stated CBS News. "He made plans. He prepared by investing in a torture chamber. I think he would have done it."
Portway was one of many pedophiles to get arrested in an international child pornography investigation.
