Austin Mahone was forced to cancel upcoming tour dates due to being hospitalized for the flu. He was rushed to the hospital on Thursday morning.
He posted a photo of himself on Instagram sitting on his hospital bed with the caption, “I've never felt so bad.”
An official statement was released regarding his tour, which was supposed to launch on Thursday, saying it will have to be postponed until next year.
“Due to illness, Austin Mahone will unfortunately have to postpone his sold out MTV Artist to Watch Presents Tour to 2014," the statement reads, People reports. "The singer ... is now on strict Dr.'s orders to stay on rest and will need to reschedule all dates on the tour."
Mahone’s mother, Michele Mahone, took over her son’s Twitter account and apologized on his behalf.
She wrote, “Austin is very upset about this & we want to say we are sorry to all the Mahomies & their parents who have made arrangements to come out.”
MTV News reports the tour was supposed to start in Miami, FL on Thursday. It was scheduled to hit 10 cities.
