Avril Lavigne has been subject to pregnancy rumors in recent months after her marriage to Nickelback's Chad Kroeger in June, all of them false. Now, the “Here's to Never Growing Up” singer sat down for an interview and admitted that she's not ready for kids just yet and wants to continue focusing on her music.
According to People, Lavigne spilled the news in an interview on the online show The Lowdown with Diana Madison. Since she's gotten married, she feels the pressure to start having kids. "I want to be ready. I'm focusing on my music. I'm just releasing a new record. This is my priority and my baby right now," she said.
The newlywed also wants to focus on her husband for the time being. The couple makes sure they see each other all the time. "We actually have spent the majority of our relationship, like all of our time together," she said. "They went on the road for a little bit, and I was out with Nickelback on their tour, and then he travels with me, and now that we worked together on my record, we're together then."
The couple has been dating since November 2012, when Kroeger began helping Lavigne with her new album, reports Bang Showbiz. Lavigne said of all the work being put into the album, "The hours are long, but it actually just makes that process even better because he's there with me, so I like working with him. Plus I think he's a really talented song writer and I respect him and his work tremendously."
The singer's fifth album, Avril Lavigne, will be released November 5. Watch the interview below.
