David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have admitted they want to do a third X-Files movie.
The two actors don't seem exactly sure how the last movie left their characters, The Associated Press reports.
They were asked during the 20th anniversary celebration of The X-Files at The Paley Center for Media in New York and they weren't entirely sure.
"Well they (Mulder and Scully) were married the last movie," the Californication actor said of their last outing in The X-Files: I Want to Believe."
Anderson interjected, "Were we actually married?"
"I believe so. that was my impression," Duchovny responded.
While unclear on that, the two did agree they wanted a third movie, according to The Toronto Sun. "Seriously. We'd all love to do it. The ball is in Fox's hands. And not (his character) Fox Mulder, Fox the studio."
He admitted there was a script being worked on, but the going was slow. "I think Chris is working on a script. Chris is shooting a pilot right now, so he might not be working on a script, but he claims to be working on a script and if he does do that and (20th Century) Fox wants to make it... Gillian (Anderson) will do it, I will do it."
"So start your writing campaign now," the actor said, speaking of fans.
