Kim Kardashian reveals she will be following in her sister Khloe Kardashian Odom’s footsteps and take fiancé Kanye West’s last name while still keeping her own last name.
Kardashian revealed at her birthday party at Tao in Las Vegas on Friday that she will soon become Kim Kardashian West.
This is surprising to those who watched her E! wedding special Kim’s Fairytale Wedding, documenting her wedding to ex-husband Kris Humphries, because she refused to take the traditional Humphries’ last name and caused quite a fight.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star told E! Online she had “no idea whatsoever” that West would be proposing on her 33rd birthday.
"I cried afterwards. I was shaking. And when you're like, Is this really happening? But you're just shaking. I knew we were going to San Francisco for my birthday, because he had a show there the next night. So I thought it was just a birthday dinner," she explained.
She added, “when he got on his knee, I kind of figured out what was going on."
When talking about wedding plans, Kardashian, 33, said "I'm going to leave this up to him. Whatever he wants."
In an interview on Monday, West said the wedding will likely take place next summer and he’s already envisioning “fighter jets” for it.
“I wanted to marry that girl from the first time I saw her. Kim and I are the perfect balance,” he gushed.
